BRUTAL_ARCHITECTURE PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION ✨FIFTEENTH PLACE✨ ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ In fifteenth place in the eleventh Brutal_Architecture photographic competition with the theme of Transport is Dmitry aka @please_defeat_vicious with this superb shot of the former (very appropriate) Ministry of Transport in Tbilisi, Georgia, designed by George Chakhava & Zurab Jalaghania and completed in 1975. Now the Headquarters of the Bank of Georgia, this brute was designed using the (Georgian patented) ‘Space City Method’ which strives to have as little impact at ground level as possible, suspending the structure in the air, leaving the ground free for flora & fauna. Brutalist and sustainable, clearly ahead of its time and symbolising superb architectural design. Granted ‘Immovable Monument’ status under the National Monuments Act in 2007 this incredible building is here to stay.
