gion caminada - church mortuary, vrin 2003. a building meant for the viewing of the deceased before the funerary procession, the design echos this transition by lying somewhere between style of the village houses and the architecture of a church. multipurpose hall, vrin / gion caminada . we were über lucky to get inside, as there was a community meeting at the school and they allowed us to stay and play with all the equipment, look into each hole, wipe the floor with our bodies and no one really checked what we were doing there for an hour - - there is something very artistic in the construction of the roof truss, which was designed together with jurg conzett. made out of wood, somehow old-fashioned and at the second look strinkingly modern, light, yet bearing a huge span (and huge amounts of snow in winter time) . . . . . #architecture #analog #35mm #olympusmju #filmisnotdead #gioncaminada #vrin #graubuenden
